It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful man. Ronald Harvey Walker passed away at Centenary Hospital on May 6, 2023, leaving behind the love of his life, Roberta Walker, his wife of 67 years. He is forever loved by his children Ron (Adrianne), Marnie (Allan), and Greg (Louise). Loving pop to Amie (Bryant), Josh, Cara (Pontus), Lukas (Kyle), Emily, and Sarah, and cherished great-grandfather to Kai, Annika, Mattson, and Waawaate. Ronald also leaves behind his brother, Ed, sister, Gail, sister-in-law Shirley, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ron is predeceased by his parents John Edwin Walker and Theresa Reynolds Walker, brothers Jack and Bill, brother-in-law Ken, and sisters-in-law Eleanor and Ellie.
Ronald was a dedicated teacher with the North York School Board for 35 years, inspiring many students, some of whom still kept in contact with him until his passing, showing just how great his impact on his students was. Ronald’s passion was his family. He dedicated his life to being the best husband, father, and grandfather that any person could aspire to be. From a very young age, Ronald excelled in sports, enjoying baseball, basketball, and hockey. He loved nothing more than spending hours watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports. Ronald is most well known for being a wonderful storyteller, captivating everyone with the many stories from his life. Ronald was also an avid reader and always enjoyed a good book.
A visitation will be held at Jerrett Funeral Home 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto on Sunday, May 14th from 10-1. A Service will follow at 1 PM
His family would like to thank all of the staff at Centenary Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of a most wonderful man.
