You were one of a kind Pattie, so you will be sorely missed by everyone who knew you. I have beautiful memories of you performing on the field of Coxwell ballpark (Our favorite pitcher) and my apartment on Russel Hill Rd. where we all enjoyed great parties.

I knew Pat from when we worked at 32 Division together. She was a great person and someone you could always approach. It's truly sad that's she's gone now.  

Miss you my friend.  I miss our weekly chats as well.  We are go glad though to have had a birthday visit with you, just prior to your N.O.T.L. getaway last year.

We had made a promise to each other not to leave anytime soon but you broke your word.  Now you’ll just have to wait (hopefully a good long time) before we get to gab again.

Jane I know what you feel. Patty like Bob was a special person and we were lucky to have time with them. In their way they nutured us and provided us with the tool we need to move forward. Moving forward takes time and energy and strength . It will come.  I have wanted to call but I need to find the proper words and time. I knew Pat when she payed 'ball'  in the late 50s and early 60s. I played 'ball' at Coxwell Stadium for Toronto Teddy K's. My husband, a retired Toronto  Police Officer, also knew Pat on the job.
Our thoughts and prayers to Pat's family and loved ones. 

Once you met her you fell in love with those blue blue eyes, her smile and her friendliness.  We shared some crazy times together and I will carry and cherish those moments.  She was as tough as she was gentle, fighting to keep her heart strong and continue to live a great life.  My deepest of condolences to Jane.  I know how lonely and hard it is to lose someone so dear to you.  I'd like to add some other comments by friends who may not have seen the obit.

I am so glad I got to connect with you on Facebook and catch up on our lives since we saw each other several years ago. So much has happened over the years. You were such a dynamic person Pattie. You were very kind to everybody and lived a wonderful life full of positivity. Your humour and laughter are unforgettable. Be free to soar again dear Pattie. You will always be remembered with such fondness.

I first met Patty in 1966 when I was brought to her house party by a mutual friend and she kicked me out after finding out I was under age.  She was very kind about it and teased me endlessly through the years whenever we crossed paths. She inspired and mentored me and was the kind of person one never forgets, especially her infectious laugh.  My condolences to her family, she will be missed by all who knew her.

Pattie was special to so many people.  I met her in 1968 and am privileged to have been included as a friend.  She will be missed by many.

As a friend and neighbour I will miss Pattie so much.  As so many people have said, she was full of life and when she knocked on my door, a knock that was so distinctive, I would welcome her in.  We were neighbours for ten years, visiting back and forth, sharing a glass of whatever!  My sincere condolences go out to Jane and to the rest of Pattie’s family at this time.  

Patsy, Pat, Pattie  my sister as I knew her over the years. My friend, my confidante.  Pat and I shared laughter, love, sorrow.  She was always there for me.  

Jane  my sister-in-law, and Pat were wonderful, a happy couple.  I love Jane.  

I also had the pleasure of sharing wonderful times with many of her friends, such as Irene, Issy, Karen, just to name a few.

Directing traffic in Heaven should be much easier for you. Twin and I will miss that beautiful smile and your marvellous sense of humour.we will miss you. In my many years of service with the Toronto Police, I had the opportunity to meet with, and be mentored by Pat. I always left with a positive attitude about my concerns that I discussed with her, I think her smile and demeanor towards a young officer made me more confident in my duties. Pat was very well respected within the service ( she was by me), but I am sure she had her struggles within a male dominated service in her early days.  I know she is now with Angels, and I bet she is making them smile too..

Known Pattie since 1960 and found her so down to earth and funny and a great fastball pitcher both in the military and later in Toronto.  She achieved much in the spanning years and someone we could always be proud of, not only friends within her civilian profession, but so many of us who also shared some years of youth contributing as member of the RCAF.  She reached wonderful professional heights, but always remained who she was - a great gal with good values and respect for others.  My sincere condolences to her family and many friends.

I was 16. I had never met anyone like Pat Post.  I was in awe.
She embodied everything I wanted to be in life. Thank you.

Pattie, you were such an exceptional and dear friend –and now that you have left this earth…you have left a great void. Your friendship was special – and was part of our daily lives. Facetime or phone calls, you were always near. 

We always had so much fun and quality time with you and Jane when you visited us in Cobourg, pulling into the driveway with your dearly loved sparkling white Jaguar. Sometimes we’d take a little trip to the Casino – we’d laugh and joke - we won we lost…”whatever” you’d say –quality time together was what mattered most!

Some of the words that come to mind when we think of you are caring, reliable, strong, generous, fun, gentle and friendly. We will toast you here on our deck …with a glass of your favourite Veuve Clicquot of course. Rest in Peace Pat, and rest assured - you will never be forgotten.


I have so many fond memories of my aunt Pat. She was always smiling and lively with a twinkle in her eye.   

I read an old article that she was featured in that named her “Pistol Packin’ Pat” and from then on, she is known in my household by that title.   I think the the fun, sassy name , coupled with the responsible undercurrent describes her beautifully. 

We loved aunt Pat deeply, she will be greatly missed.  

Sending love and strength to Jane, John, my mom Shirley and to her countless friends, (especially Irene). 

I will raise a glass tonight with my mom in loving memory of one of my role models who showed me that women could do anything!!!

As an Officer under the charge of Superintendant Patrica Post it was common to meet her in public but  a quick glimpse from her and you knew that you were already scrutinized for your proper attire but it was that glint in her eye of recognition that that said the most.

Pattie was my boss in 53 Division. She was a fantastic boss and friend. She always had a smile and enjoyed a joke. She held people accountable. She would do it in a way that made the person realize their mistake, but not feel bad. She encouraged them after.  She cared about and looked after her people. My thoughts and prayers go to her and her family and friends. She will be missed.

So sad to hear that Pattie passed away...She was a fine human being..She will be truly missed..

I was saddened to hear of Pat’s passing. I was a new female Officer at 32 Division in the ‘80’s  and Pat was a Sergeant at the time . 
Pat inspired me greatly, as there weren’t many women on the job.

Pat was very supportive and a wonderful role model. Condolences to her family.

I am so grateful to have had Pattie as my friend for the past 57 years.

I’ll miss our near weekly phone calls but I am so happy that Marilyn and I got to visit with Pattie & Jane a few days before Pat’s 85th. birthday.  We got to hug and kiss her one last time.

As I watched Serena play tennis Wednesday night, I could visualize Pattie on her shoulder…cheering her on!  We would talk baseball a lot but tennis was her game and Pattie LOVED it!

For those lucky enough to have a poem written by Pattie for our birthday or some other special occasion, we’ll treasure it!

Pattie was a devil but she was my kind of devil, always there right on cue with some witty remark delivered with an infectious smile and a twinkle in her blue eyes.

Most importantly, I’ve NEVER heard anyone say an unkind word about Pattie.  She was loved deeply by everyone and reciprocated in kind.

I’ll miss everything about Pattie, we all will.  The mould has been broken.  The G.O.A.T. is gone!

I remember Pattie with fondness and respect from our years at 32 Division.  Her sense of humour and consideration for others was exceptional.

To have a true friend is special. To have one for over 60 years is truly special. Patti was that person. We were fortunate to spend two wonderful days in August with Patti and Jane.

Always a privilege to work with such a dedicated and positive officer. But most of all,  a very nice person.

I was sorry to hear of Pattie’s passing.  She has been a good friend and sister for almost 30 years.  I’ll miss her infectious humour and friendship.
But hers was certainly a life well-lived, full of mischief, but also full of compassion and love.  It was my brother Dick who phoned today to tell me; he was also a Metro cop, who started some years after Pattie, and was ever grateful to her for helping him find his way back to the downtown work that he loved, after being consigned to the wilds of Scarborough.  He’d ticked off a senior officer, and Pattie showed him how to recover.  She had a true gift for friendship.

I first met Pattie through my work with the then Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto.  She was attending Kingswood, an immersion course in Diversity and Equality Management.  I was one of many instructors.  Her sense of humour, and commitment to making police services work for everyone  and strong personality, well, we became friends.  I will miss her and regret that the last time I was in Toronto, we were not able to meet as she was not well enough.  My heartfelt condolences go to all who loved her and especially her partner and wife Jane.  

A truly fine lady who impressed me during my carreer.

I worked with Patty "back in the day" at 32.  She was fair, kind, well-respected and easy to talk to - all great attributes for a Command Officer and leader. I am saddened by her passing. My condolences to her family.

I'm so sad to hear of Pat's passing. I worked for Pat when she was in charge of 32 division's Youth Bureau, and when she was our Staff Sergeant of my platoon. Pat was a great and fair leader who was always ready to listen. She will be missed by all who knew her.
