Meropi was blessed to have a large and caring family always around her. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Christos, her children Joanne (dec. Stratos), Debbie (Kosta), Tony, and Angie (Dave), her grandchildren Jenny (John), Marilyn, Robbie, Chris, Nicholas and Melissa, and her great grandchildren Maya, Celia and Demetre.
Meropi was born in Agios Charalampos (Greece) and grew up in Kozani (Greece) before moving to Toronto to begin a new life and raise her family in Canada. Meropi will be first and foremost remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to family and loved every moment she spent with them. Among many other things, Meropi will be remembered for her empathetic nature, beautiful singing voice, and delicious cooking. While we did not want to let her go, Meropi worked hard her whole life and we take solace in the fact that she will now be able to enjoy the rest she deserves as she is reunited with so many of her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home in North York from 4:00-8:00 pm on December 27, 2024. Father Konstantinos Pavlidis will lead a prayer during the visitation around 6:30 pm that evening.
Funeral services will take place at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday December 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM, then a burial service at York Cemetery and followed by Makaria luncheon at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
We are grateful to have had Meropi in the world for over 91 years. The family wishes to thank all those who loved and supported Meropi during her lifetime and continue to hold her close in their hearts and thoughts now that she has passed.
May her memory be eternal.
