Merla Margaret McMurray

She was surrounded by her family and passed peacefully.

Merla is survived by her beloved husband, Lynn McMurray and her 2 sons, Patrick (Alison) and Christian (Zophia) along with her grandchildren, Leiden, Spencer and Borden.

Merla was the only child of Borden and Dorothy Lilley and was born and raised in the Beaches and went to Malvern Collegiate, where she met Lynn.

Merla was a kindergarten teacher at Secord Public school for 30+ years and loved her beautiful English style “Massey Cottage” house and garden.

She traveled to Europe each year, enjoyed going to concerts, the Opera and the National Ballet of Canada (especially the Nutcracker at Christmas).

A Memorial of Life service will be held at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, on Tuesday May 30th. There will be a visitation with the family at 10am, the funeral service at 11am, followed by a private graveside service at St. John’s Norway cemetery for the family, where Merla will be interned beside her parents.

The McMurray family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors at Michael Garron Hospital for their excellent care of Merla.
