It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Wheeler (nee O'Neil) on December 18th, 2024 at the age of 88. She is reunited with her loving husband Tom of 53 years, and her extended family. Dearest mother of Arthur (Jane), Darrell (Cecilia), and Robert (Arlene). Proud grandmother of Gordon, Scott, Erin, Spencer, Riah, Tanis, and Maren.
Mary attended high school at Havergal College, earned a BA from the University of Western Ontario and earned her teacher’s certificate at the University of Toronto.
Mary and Tom enjoyed all the activities that came with lovingly raising a family in the North York area of Toronto. Mary was passionate about tennis, bridge, and the study of antique furniture. She also enjoyed being an active participant in the University Women’s Club. She enjoyed travel with her family, and especially with Tom after he retired.
This was a life well lived and loved, a life that will be deeply missed. Friends and family are welcome to attend the visitation at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street on Monday December 30th from 1 to 2:30 pm. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:30 pm at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
