It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Agnes Webster on September 24, 2024, peacefully surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia. She married the love of her life William Henry Webster (preceded in death) in October 1950. Dad then shipped off to Korea the day after they married where he wrote her every day. She is survived by her sons David Webster (Sarah) of Toronto, Michael Webster (Pat) of Alliston and her Grandchildren Matthew (Amanda), Michael (Samantha), Parham, Parsa. She grew up in Toronto then moved to East York once she was married. She lived the last few years at Simcoe Manor in Beeton where she passed away.
Mary worked for the Toronto Board of Education for many years. She was a Secretary and Librarian during her career at Monarch Park Secondary School. Mom enjoyed helping the students out when they visited the library.
Mary was an avid bowler and euchre player, and she loved playing the organ. She was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 22. Mom and dad loved to attend the dances where they would dance the night away, mom loved the summer picnics and the Children’s Christmas Parties where she spent many hours with her best friend, Noreen Penney (preceded in death). Mary, Bill, Noreen and Doug Penney travelled to Vegas on several occasions where they tried to “break the bank” and saw the sights. They were inseparable.
Mary touched many lives with her friendly demeanor and personality. She was always willing to help out anyone in need and she loved pets. Mary would often dog sit her “other grandchildren”, Max and Angus. She adored them and they absolutely adored mom. She would often sneak them a treat or two when we weren’t looking. Anyone who knew Mary would automatically become a better person for knowing her.
A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4C1L3.
A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 12:00 PM, at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4C1L3.
