Peggy grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she attended St. Mary’s Academy. She moved to Montreal to pursue a career in radio where she was the first female time rep in Canada for CFCF. She spent many years as Woman’s Editor of CJAD. In the 70s she started the volunteer department of Catholic Family and Children’s Services. It was in Montreal that she met and married George Keefer – together they raised their four daughters. They spent many happy summers at their cottage on Lake Echo near Morin Heights and many days sailing out of The Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club. Thank you to the tender staff of The Briton House especially Lena and Belinda, who took such good care of our mother.
