Lewis John (Jack) Blake, born October 25, 1927 passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre from complications of Covid-19. Although not able to physically be with family and loved ones, due to this devastating pandemic, he was surrounded by our love and prayers as well as the ever caring and compassionate hospital staff.
On April 29th we lost a wonderful man. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eileen (nee Boyd). Forever loved by his daughters Cindy Stewart (the late Ron) and Sharon Manych (Alex) and his son John Blake (Kim Jenkins). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Suzy (Brent), David (Megan), Stephanie (Nathan), Dylan and Michael (Laila).
Jack was born in Twillingate, Newfoundland and is predeceased by his parents Lewis and Pearl Blake. He was a loving brother to Lila and Ruby and was predeceased by his siblings George, Gladys, Marjorie, Beatrice and Edna. Jack was a long-time employee of the Canadian Pacific Railway who enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and horse racing. He was also an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan who rarely missed a game.
The Blake family greatly appreciate your condolences at this difficult time. Due to the current COVID – 19 restrictions to a maximum of 10 people, the visitation and interment at Prospect Cemetery will remain private.
