Jerry connected to many people throughout his life’s journey. Jerry, a young activist in his birth country of the United States, moved to Canada in the early 1960s to complete his education and begin his career and family. He affected many lives through his passion of teaching and music at work and in his community. But there was no one who held a stronger connection to Jerry than his beloved wife Tess, whom the world lost to cancer in 2021.
In his final years Jerry’s health deteriorated as he lost his ability to teach and participate in music. And although his health conditions were numerous, those who were close to him know that Jerry finally succumbed to a broken heart.
Jerry is survived by his sons Aaron and Jonathan Blair, his daughter in-laws Sarah Bolton and Rachel Magnusson, his grandchildren Nathan and Miranda Blair and Daniel Magnusson, his many relatives in the United States: the Crolls – Judy (sister), Linda (niece), Susan (niece), Katherine (niece), David (nephew), Che Broadnax (nephew), as well as his niece Christina (Tina) De La Pena Osias, her husband Adonis Osias and their children Leia and Lily Anne Osias whom he had a special relationship with and provided Jerry much love and support during his most challenging times.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents Jeremiah and Connie and his bride Tess Blair with whom he is now happily reunited.
A funeral service for Jeremiah will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Gabriel's Passionist Parish, 670 Sheppard Ave E, North York, Ontario M2K 1B7.
