Our family is deeply saddened by the loss of Auntie Jeanne. Her kindness and graciousness will forever be remembered. She was such a generous person, so patient with all of us growing up. Her warm smile was always so nice to see at every family and friends gathering over the decades. She was so sweet and thoughtful as well with the next generation, our own children. We will always cherish our memories of Auntie Jeanne. Her spirit will live on in our hearts and minds.

Our words cannot express our sorrow after hearing of Jeanne untimely passing.  Jeanne was a wonderful person, always so generous and sharing.  All those happy days when she and you,  Larry drove or flew to be with Elaine, her hubby and the grandkids.  And again,  the fortune of sharing her love with Leslie's and husband's  little ones.  Those were the times her eyes sparkled and voice, getting excited, talking about each grandkid in detail.
May you take comfort in the love of family and friends during this difficult time.


Mrs. Chan was my 'high school mom' because I was always with Lesley at their house growing up. I have fond memories of her welcoming me, feeding me, and just being a really kind person. Even in the years after high school it was great running into Mrs. Chan. She'd always touch my shoulder, and ask about my life and family. Lesley and I would have playdates at her house with our kids, and she took care of this generation as well - making sure we were all happy and well fed. She was a gentle, kind person and her departure is tragic and too early. But she was also well-loved by her wonderful family and friends, and hopefully that provides her loved-ones with comfort. My heart goes out to her family at this time. 

Everything came too sudden, it was shocking and painful to lose our aunt.  Words cannot express our deepest sorrow and sadness at this moment. I am unable to say a word except burst out into tears when thinking of aunt Jeanne.
The first time we met aunt Jeanne was in June ,1993 when we landed in Canada. A gentle and kind couple came over to us at the airport. I felt warmth in my heart when we were welcomed by aunt Jeanne and uncle Larry. Since then we stayed in their home for about two months. During our stay, I found Aunt Jeanne kind, caring, selfless, and had a tender heart. She was very detailed , organized, and always performed daily work and chores methodically. She provided the whole family, as well as Nelson and I with a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Within these 27 years, we travelled together, went out for dinner and dim sum occasionally, and experienced lots of celebrations and gatherings. 
Aunt Jeanne left us with lots of happy and precious memories. Her sweetness, kindness and thoughtfulness will stay in our hearts forever.

Jeanne, the sweet lady who made the best banana cake.  When we have pot luck dinner, Jeanne would always bring us the famous dessert.
Jeanne was friendly and easy going.  She would talked about her grand children with a big bright smile.  I can tell how much she loved and appreciated them.
As we say goodbye to Jeanne, let us remember that although we had lost her, yet an Angel is gain in heaven.

Hearing the passing of Jeanne deeply saddened our hearts.
50 years ago, Jeanne bought her first car, not an automatic that most North Americans do, but a standard gear shift drive one. As her cousin, I was asked to teach her how to drive it. What a smart girl, she handled  the gear system very smoothly and with good confidence, she was able to drive it nicely within a few days.
Jeanne inherited all the good values from her Iate father, the uncle I have always respected: Honesty, integrity, helpful and always docile to his parents.
Jeanne, we will miss you.

Jeanne was a quiet, kind, and caring friend for over fifty years. We have fond memories of the joy of winter skiing and summer outings with ten families of young kids and teenagers, the monthly birthday celebrations of moms and wives, and the lately sharing of our funs with grand kids through remote meetings. Our thoughts and prayers, and celebration of life to Larry, Elayne, Lesley, and your families.

We were shocked and saddened about the passing of Jeanne Chan, such a lovely, kind, friendly and wonderful person.
I already knew Larry since high school as classmate. We attended U of T together. I kept vivid memory of the lovely wedding ceremony of Jeanne and Larry in Toronto. After graduation, we kept in touch as good friends. As recent as last Jan., 2020, we went out for dinner with our U of T friends, shared some laughs at the happy (naughty) moments we indulged in the past as students.
Jeanne was thoughtful and generous, and her devotion to the family was admirable. She talked about her grand children with such a joy and showed us her wonderful family photo album . We will forever cherish the fond memories of Jeanne in our hearts.
The grief to Larry and your family must be overwhelming. Our thoughts and grief are with you, and we are here to support you during this difficult time.

Jeanne had a special way that warmed the hearts of everyone that knew her. These qualities  made her the wonderful, kind, pure and generous person she was. She left us all with many, many beautiful memories. 
Someone so special can never be forgotten. 

We are saddened by the news of   Jeanne's passing. The loss of Jeanne is felt by us all.  Her warm personality and kindness will be missed by all who knew her.

Les' Mom or Mrs. Chan as we call her, was always a beaming ray of sunshine!!! "Hi Girls, how are you? Do you want something to eat/ drink/ snack I've just made some fresh [insert something delicious and yummy here]." And then she would proceed with asking how we are doing, how our parents and siblings are doing with the warmest smile instead of the typical Asian parents' unemotional "questioning" = criticising.  Mrs. Chan showed genuine affection and care which always made me feel welcome in their household and I'll never forget that.  I'm so proud to see all the achievements Les and Elayne have reached with their personal and professional lives and I know Mrs. Chan will continue to smile down on you and your ever growing families. It was at a party of some sort in the winter of 1970-71 that I first met Jeanne during our undergraduate days at U of T. The quiet, composed, and soft spoken girl then later turned out to become the wife of my classmate and life-long friend Larry in 1973. Since their marriage, I’ve gotten to know Jeanne and her wonderful family well. She was always welcoming, warm, and kind, and we’ve talked about almost anything - from studies and career matters to sharing jokes about Larry’s absent-mindedness.
My almost two-decade absence left a void in getting to see their two girls Elayne and Lesley grew up to be such wonderful adults, a testament to the dedication and love of beautiful motherhood.
A long time friend has now been lost to many of us, and the memories of Jeanne’s personality, her laughs and voice will forever remain in our thoughts.
