Helen Powell

Helen Rose Powell sadly left us on May 9th, 2022 following heart complications. She was born July 27th, 1955 at Toronto General Hospital to her late mother Rose Powell and late father George Powell. Her siblings are Jim, John, George, and Sharon. She had three children: her late daughter Christina, her daughter Crystal, and son Korry with grandchildren Tyrell, Tristan, Chanel, Kyrese, and Kierra, as well as her great-grandchild, Azarah.

Helen was a gentle spirit that loved music, making food, and socializing with her friends. She was an extremely generous soul that, unfortunately, suffered from schizophrenia for most of her life. Helen’s lovely smile, with large dimples, would light up the room. In her early years, Helen was an accomplished dancer having won first place in a grade 8 school competition and she was heavily into fashion in her teenage years. A lot of her time as an adult was spent in the downtown Toronto area of Regent Park where her neighbours and friends felt her to be warmhearted , easygoing, free-spirited, and kind. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her life time. Helen Powell will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
