Helen passed away with her daughters by her side on Sept. 29 at Humber River Hospital after a courageous battle with dementia.
Helen was the loving wife of the late Joseph D'Onofrio and devoted mother to Michela and Deborah (Chris). She was a cherished nonna to Mike (Marlo), Cristie, and Andrea (Dimitri), and the adored "big nonna" to Joseph, Noa and Naomi.
Helen was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Ann, her brother Jack (Estelle), her sister-in-law Lydia (Carmen) and her in-laws Angelo and Rose.
For many years she was the cornerstone of our family, a source of love, strength and warmth. Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed and her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations in Helen's memory be made to the Alzheimer Society, the OSPCA or Toronto Humane Society, causes that were close to her heart.
Helen's kindness, love and unwavering dedication to her family will be remembered always. May she rest in eternal peace.
