Harold Joseph Murphy, beloved husband of the late Mary Agnes, father of Joanne (deceased), Paul (Liz), Harold (Christine), Mary Christine, Michael (Amy) and adoring grandfather to Michael, Sean, Annabelle and Evelyn, was called to God on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Harold was born in Toronto on March 8, 1928 to Dr. Harold and Cecilia Murphy, and was a brother of Paul (Angela) and Morgan (deceased).
Harold was senior partner of the law firm of Garvey Ferriss for more than 50 years. He also turned Calabogie Peaks into the four season resort it is today. Known for his generosity and counsel, Harold was proud supporter of his alma mater St. Michael’s College and friend to clergy. He will continue to be a strong role model for those whose lives he has touched.
The family will receive friends at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne Street (south of Wellesley St.) on Friday, December 2nd from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church (354 St. Clair Ave W. at Tweedsmuir) on Saturday, December 3rd at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery. There will be a memorial celebration of Harold’s life in the near future at Most Precious Blood Church in Calabogie, Ontario.
