Mr. Harold J. Murphy wrote a financial sponsorship letter for me  to further my education in the USA in 1990.  Because of his help. I was able to earn two master's degrees with a full scholarship and secured a professional teaching career.  I earned a doctoral degree in 2012 and happily retired in 2021 after teaching for 26 years in the USA. My husband also happily retired  and my son has a successful career as a software team leader.  Our grandson is 2 years old now. Without Mr. Murphy's help, my family and I could not have achieved this.  His help has changed our life path and we are profoundly grateful to him and will forever remember him.! I met Mr. Murphy and  his sons Paul, Harold and daughter Joanne in China around 1981 and  would like to maintain this valuable friendship for more than 40 years.

Liz & Paul: We were so very sorry to hear of your father's passing. We associate him with his passion for Calabogie and his generosity. I remember the last time we spoke to him over dinner after skiing at Calabogie Peaks; one of the first things that he said to us was " What was your favorite run?". Now there's passion! He leaves a wonderful legacy both in his family and at Calabogie.

My dad forwarded to me the notice that Harold J. Murhpy passed away.  His passing is a sad loss for all who knew him.  He was and remains a primary influence in the conduct of my life and practice of law and he will not be forgotten.  My deepest condolences to Paul, Harold, Christine and Michael.

We were so sorry and saddened to hear of the passing of your Dad. We were not able to get to see you at the Funeral home but said some prayer for him.
We have many great memories of your Mom and particularly your Dad. While lately I did not see him so much he was always great to us both in the city and our time at Calabogie. He alway made you feel special and we traded some terrific stories of them and my parents and the fun they certainly all had in the past. He was a great guy and a character too!!

We are so sorry for the loss of Harold. We all feel blessed to have had the chance to know him, and will always remember in particular the cheerful spirit and generosity he demonstrated at our joint dinner to celebrate Annabelle and Skye's graduation. His pride for his family was unmistakable that evening. We happily made a donation to CAMH in Harold's memory.

A friend of mine forwarded me the sad news.  We are sorry for your loss.  Your Dad was larger than life.  He always had a can-do attitude.    For those of us who worked at Garvey, Ferriss, he always made us feel at home/part of the family.    I will always remember fondly the times I spent with all of you - and everyone else he took under his wing -  in Toronto, Calabogie and Bronxville.   He will be missed by so many people he touched.

To all my Murphy friends. I will always remember the love and generosity your father showed Al and I over the years at Calabogie Peaks.        I was saddened to read of Harold's passing. He was part of my life as a youngster .His big laugh and genial nature were present at many parties at my parent's home.Harold gave me some excellent advice when I was 13 years old and I have never forgotten it.

I worked with the Murphys at Garvey Ferriss from 1988-1991. During that time, sadly, I lost my Dad.When I returned to the office after my loss, both Harold Jr. & Mr Murphy offered me words of kindness and warmth on my great loss.
