Gerald Clifford Cooper

Gerald enlisted in 1939 in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a veteran of WWII and retired after 33 years of service as a Master Warrant Officer Second Class. Dad continued working for the National Defence for an additional 13 years at Downsview Air Force Base.

He was one of four children (Murray, Donald and Joan) of the late George P. Cooper and Jennie G. (nee Houseman) of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Gerald was predeceased by his loving wife Bernice Virginia (nee MacAskill). Proud father of Gerry, Darlene, Bonnie and Ken and father-in-law to Ozzie, Geoff, Lynn and

Gail. Cherished grandfather of Alexa, Christine, Keith, Patrick, Jeremy and Mark. Great grandfather to Natasha, Brielle, Hunter, Porter, Cooper, Caroline, Adelaide and Wallace.

Dad’s family was very important to him and he cherished our visits, phone and zoom calls to know what was happening in our lives. He always had a sense of humour and his motto was to “take one day at a time”. He will be dearly missed. Dad and Mom are now at peace together.

The family is very grateful for the loving care that Dad had received during the past four years from the wonderful and dedicated staff at Hillsdale Estates.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a future time. If desired, donations on behalf of Dad, can be

made to the charity of your choice.
