Gail was born on December 31, 1946 to George and Fran Hansen in Kentville, Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Cliff Goldman, who passed in 2004.
At the age of 18, Gail drove her cherished Thunderbird convertible straight out of Nova Scotia all the way to Toronto, and never looked back.
She began her career at Thundersound recording studio where she met Moses Znaimer, soon becoming his first executive assistant at the founding of groundbreaking television station CityTV, 50 years ago. After a few interim stops, Gail rejoined Moses as a much beloved member of the ZoomerMedia family, where she could be found contributing her experience and good humour to CARP as recently as two short weeks ago.
A dear and loyal friend, Gail's frank, genuine and generous nature led to a broad assemblage of friends and loved ones throughout her life, including from her beloved Cabbagetown community. She was a force of nature who wouldn't let much of anything stand in her way. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
Gail is survived by her loving sister-in-law Judy Ezer, niece Tammy Ezer, and nephews Josh and Luke Smith.
A celebration of Gail's life will be held on Friday, September 30th, at 10:30 a.m., Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne Street, Toronto. A livestream will be available via dignitymemorial.com. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Gail's life, charitable donations can be made to the Cardiovascular Unit at St. Michael's Hospital (stmichaelsfoundation.com / 416-864-5000).
