Frank James King, after a long, productive life, passed away peacefully on May18, 2024, a few weeks short of his 102nd birthday. He was predeceased by his parents Rose Parent and Vince King, his brothers Jack and Barney, his sisters, Teresa, Yvonne, Eileen and Dorothy & his first wife Jean Blair.
He is survived by his sister Cecile Weber and his wife Marion Gordon-King, along with a host of nieces and nephews to whom he was always very kind and generous.
Frank was a WWII vet. He joined in July 1941 and was assigned to the Canadian Service Corps. 5th Division. He served in England, Italy, France and Holland.
He returned home to work in the construction industry and rose in the ranks to become president of Blackwood Hodge Ltd. and was active in trade associations in the Canadian Association of Equipment Distributors.
A farewell gathering will be held at 11a.m. On June 4, 2024 at Kane-Jarrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge St., North York, ON.
Frank’s ashes will be placed in his parents’ plot beside his sister Dorothy in Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill at 2:30 p.m. on June 4, 2024.
