Fotoula Kougias

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Fotoula Kougias. She was born in Toronto on January 18th, 1965. Daughter of the Late Evangelos Kougias and Aunt to the late Elizabeth Kougias. She is survived by her mother Eleftheria Kougias and siblings John, Peter and Annamaria Kougias, nephews Nicholas, Michael and Stephen and nieces Athena and Nylah.

The angel of her family, she was a fun, positive, caring and loving person who never complained despite the health struggles she faced and always made friends wherever she went. Known for her quick wit, exceptional memory, tender heart, courage and strength, she was a loving Daughter, Sister and Theia (Aunt), Cousin and Friend who was true and compassionate. She was always ready to chat and have a laugh and was a person who was open and never showed bias towards anyone.

Her absence leaves an aching void in our hearts, but her spirit lives on in the cherished memories we hold dear. Despite her many health challenges, she kept moving forward, never complained and was always positive, setting an example to us all of her courage and strength. Her bubbly personality and chatty nature left an impression on everyone. She loved unconditionally and was an inspiration to those who knew her. She was an innocent soul and she loved spending time talking with her family especially her young niece who brought her much joy. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends.

As we mourn the loss of her, we find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and she will forever serve as a guiding light in all that knew her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation for Fotoula will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 1385 Warden Ave., Toronto, ON M1R 2S3. A committal service will occur Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd, Toronto, ON M1K 1R1.

In lieu of flowers, contributions dedicated in Fotoula’s memory may be made to Scarborough General Hospital.
