Ernesto Di Pede DI PEDE, Ernesto - It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to our father, Ernesto, who died in his 90th year after a brief illness. He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 61 years, Fiorina. He will always be fondly remembered by his two sons Gino (Edie) and Antonio, brother Vincenzo (Loreta), sister Luisa (Vincenzo) and three cherished grandchildren James, Laura and Nicholas. Ernesto was a Veteran of World War II, who immigrated to Canada in 1951. He was an extremely hard working, talented Construction Worker and a fiercely proud Italian-Canadian, who paved the way for his family and many relatives, whom he sponsored to Canada. Ernesto's home was renowned for it's gracious hospitality and fine vino, which was the work of his human hands. A very special thank you to nono's caregiver Lorna, for adding so much to our father's remaining days. Visitation will be held at Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street (two lights south of Steeles), on Sunday, March 7 and Monday, March 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. Paschal Baylon Roman Catholic Church, 92 Steeles Ave. W. on Tuesday, March 9 at 9:30 a.m. with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, your good wishes and/or Mass Card would be appreciated.
