Ellen Nina Cassidy

Nina passed away peacefully in her sleep at Harmony Hills Long Term Care on July 7,2023.

She was born in 1930 in Clougheen Tipperary, Ireland. She trained to be a nurse in England and Immigrated to Canada in 1955 to join her brothers Michael and William.

She spent her career as an Obstatrics nurse at St Mikes in Toronto under the guidance of Dr. Paddy Bierne.

She operated one of the first Ultra sound machines.

She spent most summer holidays visiting family in Ireland She leaves behind many dear friends and family in both Canada and Ireland.

Her nieces Catherine and Terry would like to Thank everyone that helped to make her last few years more comfortable, With their phone calls visits snacks and food drop off.

Our appreciation and thanks goes out especially to the Staff and Volunteers at Harmony Hills. Thank you for your patience and support with Nina.

May she rest in Peace. God Bless you Nina.

A memorial service for Ellen will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 12:30 PM at St Monica's Catholic Church, 44 Broadway Ave, Toronto, ON M4P 1T4. Following the memorial service will be a committal at 2:00 PM at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery, 305 Erskine Ave, Toronto, ON M4P 1Z7.
