Elizabeth Claudies McDonald passed away on February 17, 2015 at Toronto General Hospital following a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Her life changed quickly and dramatically, but she bravely kept going though scooter bound and on 24/7 oxygen.
Liz was born in Barrie Ontario to the late Claudies nee McMahon and John (Mac) McDonald. She spent her teen years in Orillia but returned to Toronto in the sixties. She was a 12 year resident of Toronto Island where she was an active member of the Wards Island Association executive and a keen lawn bowler. Moving to the Island gave her the opportunity to see her grandson Noah daily which was gift to both of them. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family, daughter Malachi Oliver (Ivo), grandson Noah who was the apple of her eye and brother John McDonald (Kathleen) of Vancouver BC.
We would like to thank the team at the Pulmonary Rehab department at Toronto Western Hospital particularly Meeran Manji for her support, encouragement and kindness.
The Respirology team at TGH 10th floor for their exceptional care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held in the spring to celebrate her life.
Donations to the Daily Bread Food Bank would be greatly appreciated.
