Born on September 3rd, 1954 she passed away on November 13th, 2024 at Mount Sinai Hospital
surrounded by loved ones. Predeceased by her Father Joseph, and brothers Mark, and Julio.
Survived by her Mother Marie, and sisters Joan, and Louise.
Dorothy was the heart and soul of her family, taking care of her parents in their aging years. She
was an amazing Wife to Tony and step-mom to Tyler, a loving daughter and sister, an Aunt to many
nieces and nephews, a dedicated teacher for over 25 years and dear friend to so many. She was
especially known for her tender heart, strength and compassion. Her absence leaves an aching void
in our hearts but her spirit lives on in the cherished memories we hold dear.
She crafted a wonderful, loving, warm life with Tony. She found joy and solace in his companionship
— her life partner, and travel partner. She was an amazing step-mom to Tyler with her warm
presence at the cottage to their most recent travel adventures to Florida.
Dorothy had such a passion for life, which included gardening, Disney (especially Harry Potter),
teaching, reading, travelling to places such as the cottage, zoo, and anywhere else life took her with
Tony. As an educator, she especially enjoyed teaching the young women of tomorrow, helping to
ready them and help to navigate their life ahead. She was happiest at the cottage with Tony, spent
as much of the summers as she could there. She loved to spend time there gardening and relaxing
by the water, either in her hammock reading a book or on her chair taking in the beautiful view of
the water.
As we mourn the loss of Dorothy, we find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind. We
carry on her spirit in our everyday conversations, and will continue to on our future travels - she will
always be with us. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family would like to thank both Princess Margaret Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital ICU for
their kindness and compassion during the most difficult times, especially the nursing staff who
often went above and beyond for Tony and the family. We appreciate all of the prayers and kind
gestures during this difficult time. A celebration of life will be held in her honour at a later date
