Dear Allan,

It is so hard to find the right words to express the sadness i feel knowing that you are no longer here. Losing you has left a void that words that can’t truly fill. You were more than a mentor to me — you were a guiding light, a source of wisdom, and a constant source of encouragement. 

I still remember the first time we spoke. You had this way of making me feel heard and valued, even when I doubted myself. Your advice was practical, honest, and deeply insightful. You believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself, and you pushed me to aim higher and work harder. You didn’t just share knowledge; you shared your time, experiences and most importantly your heart.

I feel an overwhelming sense of loss, but I also feel gratitude. Gratitude for having had you as a mentor and a friend. Gratitude for all the lessons you taught me and the confidence you Instill in me. Gratitude for the memories we shared— moments of laughter, deep conversations and victories big and small.

Your legacy lives on in the lives you’ve touched, including mine. I will honor you by continuing to strive for excellence, just as you always encouraged me to do. I will carry your lessons in my heart and do my best to make you proud. 

Rest peacefully Allan cox you will always be missed and you will always be remembered.

This was us at a wedding a few years ago. It was a fun day. That’s what we did. Have fun and laugh together. I have two brothers and I would gladly add Allan to them. He has been a rock solid friend since 1979. I love him and will miss him. Rest in power Big Al!

This news was so shocking and disturbing . I worked with Allan for several years at HSBC and though we have not  been in touch since I left hsbc, I have the fondest memories of our time working together. Allan was a complete professional and handled every challenge in his usual calm demeanor. He was the rock of the branch! I remember the time when my son came to the branch in a panic as he had to go to his school prom and didn’t know how to tie a tie. Allan of course helped out and my son left a happy camper.

The drives to basketball practice in the “Dadillac,” blasting the latest mixtapes, while you roasted me for being a 12-year-old who ordered tea at the Tim’s drive-thru—those are moments I’ll never forget.

I was sorry to hear about Allan's passing. Although we worked remotely, Allan's kindness, professionalism, and dedication always shone through. He was not just a coworker but a true team player who made a lasting impact on everyone he worked with. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Allan you are missed beyond words. Having known you since the age of 14 I am so sadden by your passing. We reconnected after so many years and we picked up like it was yesterday. I cannot fathom what your family is going through with your passing but it is a testament to the person your were. Your legacy will live on as you will not be forgotten any time soon. To your family, cherish the memories as there are so many. To his wife Natalie, you are a pillar of strength, the love you two shared was to be admired by one and all. I cannot fathom the pain and hurt you feel but I know you will be ok as Allan is watching over you. All my love to you and your family.

A charming and kind soul.  While we did it know each other well, his persona always reflected kindness and made people feel comfortable  in his presence.  The world is less without him.

You will be sorely missed by your colleagues here at HSBC/RBC.  You always brought positive energy to our teams, each morning we saw that.  Your level-headed, positive approach was contagious and helped countless people develop their own careers and lives outside the office.  Thank you for everything you did for your community.

Allan was admired by all of those around him. He was a true charm. I have fond memories of working with Allan at HSBC; he was a true gentleman. He will be deeply missed.
