Allan was born in St. Ann’s Bay in St. Ann Parish, Jamaica on August 5,1968. Immigrating with his mother and 2 older siblings to Canada in 1973, he grew up in Montreal in the Little Burgundy neighbourhood where he not only became a star basketball player in high school and college, but also an "A" student. After marrying his high school sweetheart heart in 1989 he moved first to Texas then eventually to Toronto where he became a dad for the first time in 1990. He would eventually be dad to 3 boys and a girl, almost an entire basketball team. Being a basketball ball coach was central to who Allan was. He not only coached many young men and women on the game, but the game of life. He was a patient listener to those who felt voiceless, he was there for those who needed to know there was a steadying hand, and had a warm embracing smile for those who needed to know the world could be a kind place. He was the person who gave you second chances. Above all, Allan was a wonderful dad and husband. He thoroughly cherished and enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was watching Raptors games with his kids, corralling everyone for family movie nights, selecting the annual Christmas horror film to kickoff the holiday season, or spending each evening of the season rapt in conversation with his kids while watching the twinkling of Christmas tree lights. Being with his family was how he defined success. Allan was quiet grace, dignity, and unwavering constance, and although he was not here long - how wonderful life was while he was in this world. Allan is survived by his wife Natalie (née O’Brien), children, Shakiyl (Coco), Malik, Kadim, Aliya; sisters, Ann and Grace (Steve); brothers, Jason and Andrew; granddaughter, Sage Rose; nephews, Noah, Joshua, Diondre, Donovan, Diyaami, Dahkari; nieces, Bianca, Jasmin, Daryn, and many other family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Alice and Joseph Cox.
