Agnetha Brusch

Agnetha Brusch nee Sienerth passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the age of 97. Predeceased by her much-loved husband Georg, her parents; Friedrich and Agnetha, her brothers and their spouses; Friedrich (Gertrude), Arnold Johann (Regina), Daniel and Michael (Susanna).

Cherished and beloved mother of Erna and George (Betty). Proud and loving Oma to Leanne. Treasured Tante Niki to all her nieces and nephews.

Agnetha was born in Hasagen, Romania (Siebenburgen) on December 16th 1925. She had a magical childhood and enjoyed sharing stories of the first 19 years of her life, “at home”. In 1956 she immigrated to Canada where she and Georg meet and were married. They built a life together, both of them pleased the they had chosen Canada as their home and Toronto as the city where they lived and raised their children.

Agnetha was an avid gardener. She loved to tend her garden full of flowers, fruits and vegetables and share her enthusiasm and knowledge. She had a real talent for needlework and was a skilled knitter. She loved to help where she could and enjoyed being active in her church. Most of all, she loved her immediate and extended family.

Her joyous smile, good humour and generous heart will be lovingly remembered, by her family and friends.

Visitation and funeral service will held at St. George’s Lutheran Church, 410 College Street, Toronto M5T 1S8 on Sunday, October 15th. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1pm. The funeral service will be celebrated at 1pm.
