Died peacefully on Thursday November 8, 2012 at Loretto Infirmary. Sister Adele was in her 81st year as a member of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Loretto Sisters). Predeceased by her parents and Celima Laporte, her brothers Jean Baptiste (Arly), Xyst (Agathe), Celse (Sadie), Alphonse (Rose), Malcolm (Gabrielle), Raoul (Olive), Jerome (Veronica), Fergus (Anne), her sisters Valencienne (Omer Paul), Sr. St. Leon (Eugenie), I.B.V.M., Alexine (Gilbert Turgeon), Dolores (Jerry Nicholson). She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Sister Adele had a long career as a teacher and Principal in Chicago, Illinois; Toronto, Niagara Falls, Mobert and Bolton, ON; Estevan and Sedley, SK. She also did pastoral care in Barton Place and Grace Hospital, taught English as a second language to immigrants, and administered the Catechetics Correspondence School for the Diocese of Hamilton.
Friends may call at Loretto Abbey, 101 Mason Blvd., on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 8:30 p.m. Prayers at 7:30 p.m. on the same day. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 10 o’clock, in Loretto Abbey Chapel, followed by Interment at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery.
