Thomas O'Shea, age 92, of Toms River, formerly of Nutley, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024. Born in Newark, NJ, he moved his family to Nutley in 1968 then retired to Holiday City in Toms River.
He was a Newark Police Officer and a Security Guard at ITT in Clifton, N.J. Tom proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War serving as a medic in the military. He was a State Treasurer for the PBA, Director of Shareholders in Berkeley Twp., Choir Member at St. Maximilian Church in Toms River, and very active with the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Tom was an avid marathon runner and downhill skier. He enjoyed painting and boating on the Toms River and traveled extensively.
He is pre-deceased by his loving wife Sally (nee McHugh), his parents Timothy and Grace along with his 7 siblings Jack, Paul, Joe, Charles, May, Gertrude and Dolly.
Tom is survived by his 3 loving children Donna, Timothy and his wife Denise, Kathleen and her husband Lou, 5 Grandchildren Tara and her husband Eric, Timothy and his wife Jessica, Marianne and her husband Michael, Ryan and Kaitlyn, and four great-grandchildren April, Kacey, Liam and Nora.
Visiting hours will be held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Tuesday October 1, 2024 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated ay 12:00 pm at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church 130 St. Maximilian Lane Toms River, NJ 08757.
