Theresa A. DeLorenzo, 82, of Toms River, NJ passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Brooklyn, Theresa (Terri) was the daughter of the late Salvatore Iacono and Maria Mattera Iacono. She had lived in Old Bridge, NJ before moving to Toms River 16 years ago. Terri had a successful career as a saleswoman with various food companies, finally retiring from Gary’s Metro Food located in Bronx, NY.
Terri would cook for anyone and everyone, even if you weren’t hungry! She loved owls, Jeopardy, playing Words With Friends, and most of all she loved going to Atlantic City to play the slot machines. She won a few jackpots but was always waiting to hit the really big one! She used to travel to craft fairs around the area to sell her delicious homemade preserves. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and through the years, participated in many Italian-American activities. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was always telling stories and making people laugh.
Terri was predeceased by her son, Michael, and her sisters; Rose Amato, Mary Eisemann and Caroline Mongognia. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Jerome, her two daughters, Linda DeLorenzo, Diane McGillicuddy and her husband Mark; her four grandchildren, Nichole DeLorenzo, Emily DeLorenzo, Michael McGillicuddy and Edward McGillicuddy; her two great-grandchildren Zeppelin and Phoenix Greene. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 3 pm to 7 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 12 pm at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River with an Interment to follow to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
