Estefano (Steve) Vazquez, Jr., of Manchester, NJ passed away on Sunday, November 17th, 2024 surrounded by his wife and three daughters holding him tight. He was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico and had lived in the Bronx, NY, Pasadena, CA and Alexandria, VA prior to settling in New Jersey in 1973. Steve proudly served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Holiday Inn in the 1970’s whereupon he met the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Nancy Fuller. In 1979, Steve decided he wanted to work with his hands and became a carpenter. He had his hand in constructing many buildings that are still standing today from the Garden State Plaza to mansions in Rumson to decks in all of Ramtown.
Steve enjoyed drinking Budweiser and smoking Winstons. He was a member of both the Elks and VFW. Steve was a diehard Yankees and Redskins fan. Above all he loved his family and friends and making them all laugh.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Nancy and his devoted daughters: Denise (Dave) Hallinan, Stephanie Vazquez, and Nikki (Graham) Gregory; his "dash-hound" Junior II; his sisters: Sister Ana Evelyn Vazquez, Mildred (Alfred) Pistolesi, and Lucy (James Francis) Foglio; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and extended family members. Steve was predeceased by his parents, Estefano, Sr. and Carmen Vazquez.
A visitation will be held at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08724 on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass to honor Steve will be held at a later date.
