Dear Donna, Kathy, Fred and families,
We were so saddened to learn of your mom's passing and our hearts go out to you.
In 1975 we had the pleasure of moving into the house next to your family on Cedar Hill Ave.  You were terrific neighbors and Shirley and Fred were always supportive to us as new home owners and also when we welcomed our 1st child into the world in 1976.
They brought us to Fewsmith Church with them and we grew to feel the same attachment as your family to this special place with a terrific pastor and welcoming congregation.  For 30 years it helped to shape our family of 5.  We have your parents to thank for, what would be, an important part of our lives.

Shirley was kind and loving, so sweet, and along with Fred, raised a wonderful family.  She is at peace now alongside Fred and Gail.
There's no doubt that she will be missed so very much.....

To Aunt Shirley's family- you are all in our hearts and prayers. The world just lost an incredible lady. Even as a child, Uncle Fred and Aunt Shirley seemed like the perfect couple, true soulmates. Even though I am sure they argued, I always saw them as a unit- moving togethher and being fabulous doing it. 

One of my favorite memories with both of them was at one of my grandparent's parties- the first my boyfriend had been to. Uncle Fred and Aunt Shirley were their normal happy selves, and ended up talking like they had all known each other for years. Uncle Fred and Aunt Shirley told Manny about the baseball team that he and Aunt Shirley often went to. I was/am incredibly grateful to them for that. 

What I also loved about Aunt Shirley and Uncle Fred was that it didn't matter if you were "just a kid" or an adult, they talked and joked with you and let you know that you mattered to them.

Aunt Shirley- you will be missed and are very loved! Give Uncle Fred a hug for us!

Donna,  Kathy,  Fred and family, I am so very very sorry for your immeasurable  loss.  There is hardly a memory that I have since childhood that doesn't include Aunt Shirley and Uncle Fred! I always knew that if I ever had any kind of problem and my parents weren't around I could go to Aunt Shirley and Uncle Fred and they would always be there for me 24/7! There's family you are born with and family you choose. We were so blessed that you all became family a longtime ago. One of my favorite memories is the day my daughter Jamie was born, your parent s bought champagne to the hospital and was toasting her birth with my parents in the waiting room.  They did the same thing, just from home, the day my 1st grandson was born. Aunt Shirley was the most caring, loving, compassionate little spitfire I have ever met. Absolutely fierce in her loyalty to family, friends, and God.  I consider myself very lucky to have had her as a very important and special person in my life. The love and respect between Uncle Fred & Aunt Shirley was unparalleled,  and I take comfort in the fact that they are together again. I know Uncle Fred and Gail were thrilled to see her. Love to you all!!

Our Mother, Jean Hunter, who passed away earlier this year, would have been so very saddened at the loss of her good friend, Shirley.  Shirley and Fred, and our Mom and her life partner, Frank Barchi, enjoyed each other’s company for so many years

Then Shirley and Jean supported each other through the death of first Frank, and then,  Fred.

We are so sorry for your loss.  We hope the thought of Fred, Frank, and Jean  welcoming  Shirley to Heaven, and being together again, will console all of you, as it does us!

There are no words that we might offer that would ever be able to remove the family's pain at Shirley’s passing. Never did we believe that the time had come for God to issue his call for Shirley to "come home" and head up a “new” usher team in God’s Holy Cathedral. All we can offer, however, is the belief that our Lord and Savior is always close by to carry all of the family through this time of anguish and grief. Shirley will be missed by many especially at St Andrew. She stepped up to the plate after Fred went home to the Lord by serving the church as the head usher. She was always there with a smile, concern for others and helping  all the ushers.  She always asked how we were and what she could do for us. She was a true believer and servant to our Lord and church. Thank you for sharing her with us

We were so saddened to hear of Shirley's passing...  She is already missed...  We will always have the wonderful times shared at Donna's, Fred's, her own home, her church, the beach, and at family events...  We can no longer physically see and feel the warmth of her heart, her deeply caring, her embracing smile, but all we have to do is close our eyes...

Shirley, we love you, we miss you...  God bless, and may your soul rest everlastingly in peace...

So very sorry to hear about  Shirley.  She and my Mom, Clara  were such good friends from  young girls. My sincere condolences to her family. 🌹🌹
