Robert James Geissler, Jr.

Robert James Geissler, Jr., age 70, of Toms River, New Jersey passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at home under hospice Care. Robert, known as "Bob," was born in Paterson, New Jersey on May 25, 1954 as the son of the late Lucy (Gerardi) and Robert James Geissler, Sr. Bob was raised and resided in Paterson, New Jersey. He was a former resident of the greater Los Angeles, California area before spending 14 years in Tucson, Arizona where he enjoyed the picturesque landscapes of the mountains and deserts. Bob ultimately moved to Toms River, New Jersey to be closer to his family almost 4 years ago. Bob was a former travel agent in New York, NY with Marazul Tours. He later became a volunteer with hospice organizations and decided to return to school to obtain a nursing degree in hospice care. Bob received Bachelor's Degrees in both Nursing and Political Science from William Paterson University. He found hospice care to be his calling, and he found it very rewarding to assist families in their time of need. He retired after serving with the former Valley Hospital of Ridgewood, New Jersey, and later with the St. Mary's Hospital (Carondelet) of Tucson, Arizona.

Bob loved the outdoors and cultivated his rock garden with enthusiasm in New Jersey and Arizona. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs and also loved his music. He enjoyed coloring and had an interest in Native American culture. Bob also loved football and watching various sporting events. He will be fondly remembered for his sarcastic sense of humor. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Denise; and his daughter, Andrea Geissler; a sister, Deborah Geissler; a nephew, Tucker Barclay; and several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family and close friends.

Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Bob's memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
