Nancy P. Keeney, 84 of Beachwood, passed away Friday at her daughter's home in Ocean Gate with her family. Nancy was born in Pasadena, NJ. She lived in Toms River for seven years, than Ocean Gate for 22 years before moving to Beachwood in 1976.
Nancy worked for Spirits Unlimited in Forked River for 20 years. Prior to that she owned with her late husband Bill, Keeney Real Estate in Ocean Gate. She also worked as a : egg candler, spot welder, and florist assistant. A member of the Ocean Gate Fire Auxiliary and the T.R.H.S. Class of '46 Reunion Committee. Besides her love of the N.Y. Yankees, she also loved her family. In addition Mom loved cooking, bowling, gardening, and was always a farm girl at heart.
She is predeceased by her husband William G. Keeney (1989), her son William G. Keeney III (2001), and her brother Wilfrid "Woody" Potter. Surviving are her children Kathleen A. Kaufman of Ocean Gate, Kevin M. and his wife Susan E. Keeney of Waynesville, MO., Brian P. Keeney of San Francisco, CA., and Kelly M. Keeney of Beachwood. A daughter-in-law Donna Keeney of Pine Beach and a brother Philip L. Potter of Beachwood. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday at St. Barnabas RC Church in Bayville. A private cremation will follow.
