Michael T. Sutton

Michael was a licensed funeral director for over 30 years and retired as the manager of the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River. He was quick witted, enjoyed politics, watching his daughter Erica playing sports, and buying her anything she wanted. He was very involved in his profession and was appointed by Governor Chris Christie to the State Board of Mortuary Science, represented New Jersey for five years on the National Funeral Directors Association Policy Board, past president of the NJFDA, and the Monmouth and Ocean FDA. He was a post chairman and member of the Toms River Parking Authority and belonged to the Republican Club of Toms River, The Knights of Columbus 4969, and the Toms River Elks 1875.

He is predeceased by his parents, Helen and Lawrence Sutton and his brother Mark. He is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Erica, brother Larry, sister Jane and her husband Paul, sister Helen and her husband John, sister in law Kathy, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
