Born in Hackensack, she resided in Hasbrouck Heights before settling in Toms River with her family 52 years ago.
Prior to retiring, she was a bookkeeper for Sear's Department Store in the Ocean County Mall, where she worked for 15 years. After Sear's closed, she worked at the Cracker Barrel Deli in Toms River, where she made the best pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwiches. While working there, she made many lifelong friends who became her second family.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, William "Pop", in 2013.
Surviving are her children: Donna Berg Carlo, Carol Berg Lorenca, and William Berg, III and his wife Cathy; her 4 greatest joys: grandsons Billy (and fiancée Shelly) and Danny Berg (and his longtime girlfriend Bri), and Alex (and fiancée Danielle) and Nic Lorenca; her brother: John Bavlitschko and his wife Janet; and many extended family members and friends. She will also be missed by her "besties," Betty and Miss Ellie. More than anything, Marion loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending all of their sporting events and cherished the times she was able to babysit.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 1-5PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 11AM at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
