Louis Spadaro

Louis Robert Spadaro, 91, passed peacefully at home on March 4, 2022. Louis was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, NY before moving to Toms River in 1976. He gave 47 years of service to our country in 3 different branches of the service. He loved being in the military and was proud of his service. He was a Korean War Veteran. He worked for over 40 years in the tugboat industry and was a union delegate of Local 333. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Sheraton Council in Brooklyn and the Tin Can Sailors in Ocean County.

Louis had an incredible zest for life and it was infectious. He loved to dance, tell jokes and stories, history, the Beach, Atlantic City, cruises and traveling. He just loved an audience and if you were lucky to be there it was always a great time. He was a huge advocate for his youngest son Thomas and never took no for an answer.

Louis was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years Collette; his parents Carmello and Lillian Spadaro; his brother Vincent and his sister Lillian.

He is survived by his loving children, Karen Spadaro and her partner Ken, Robert Spadaro, Diane Mesanko and her husband Gregory, Stephen Spadaro and his husband Paul Castree, Richard Spadaro, Thomas Spadaro and his wife Ellen; his loving grandchildren, Diana, Kenny, Thomas, Louis, Thomas Richard, Julia and Jenna who adored him deeply; his cherished great-grandchildren Cole, Nathan and Chloe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends who will miss him dearly.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday March 7, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 8, 2022 at St. Joseph RC Church in Toms River at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
