John C. Zummo, 65, of Jackson, N.J., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at home. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, from 2 to 7 p.m., with a memorial service at 6 p.m., at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River, N.J. A committal service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, N.J. Condolences may be made by visiting andersonandcampbell.com. Born in Newark, N.J., John lived in Aberdeen, N.J., for 20 years before moving to Jackson in 2008. He retired from AT&T in Piscataway, N.J., as a programmer after 20 years of employment. John served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as a sergeant. He enjoyed bowling, tennis, and he was an avid Yankee Fan. John was predeceased by his parents, Rosario and Antoinette (La Placa) Zummo, and his sister, Maria G. (Zummo) Titi. Surviving are his loving sister, Grace A. Apuzzo and her husband, Charles; his brother-in-law, Saif Titi and his wife, Rachelle, and his cherished nephews and niece, Phillip, Justin, Matthew, Luke and Ysabella.
