Born August 18, 1946 in Newark, he was the son of Thomas and Josephine (Devaney) Meehan.
Jack was a member of the Toms River Elks Lodge 1875 and the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh in Old Bridge for many years.
Jack was employed as a warehouseman/truck driver for Kristen Distributers in Elizabeth, NJ until his retirement.
Jack loved to socialize at the local pubs and restaurants and his dry (and sometimes naughty) sense of humor was loved by all his friends. His passion was watching all sports with the NY Yankees, NY Giants, and Nascar racing at the top of his list.
On June 29, 1973, he married the love of his life, Kathleen. This year, they would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.
He was predeceased by his parents, and by his son, John Michael Meehan.
Surviving are his loving wife, Kathleen (Penna); his daughter, Dawn Meehan of Toms River; two grandchildren: Jessica (Laird) Wall of Wilbraham, MA, and Candace Laird of Wake Forest, NC; three great-grandchildren: Makailyne Laird, Jax O'Brien, and Sofie Wall; his sister, Jane (Meehan) Edwards of Hillside, NJ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 2-5PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 10AM. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
