Ignatius C. “Iggy” Cortese, 91, passed away on Friday November 22, 2024 at Community Medical Center in Toms River.
Born and raised in NYC, Iggy lived in Valley Stream, NY for 26 years before moving to Toms River 25 years ago. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy having served from 1952 to 1955. He retired as a manager for Con Edison in 1994 after more than 35 years of service.
Iggy was predeceased by his wife Rose Cortese in 2004. He is survived by his loving son Joseph P. Cortese of Lindenhurst, NY.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08757. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday November 26, 2024 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church 130 St. Maximilian Lane Toms River, NJ 08757.
