Eugene Harold Rasp

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Eugene (Gene) H. Rasp, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was born in Passaic, New Jersey, and grew up in Nutley, New Jersey. He attended the University of Miami and served two tours as a captain in the US Navy. He then worked as an editor for ITT and relocated to Fairfax Virginia where he worked for CSC for 15 years before returning back to New Jersey in 1977 to work for Unisys before retiring. Gene was an avid golfer who upon retirement worked as a ranger at Bamm Hollow Country Club, and a starter at Manasquan River Golf Club. Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Grace, his children, David & Elizabeth Rasp, Patrice Rasp, Stephen & Carol Rasp, and his granddaughters, Emily Guido, Jenna Rasp, and Alyssa Rasp. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Jean Rasp. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, April 28th from 6pm to 9pm, and Friday, April 29th, between 9:30a.m and 12:30pm, at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road Toms River, New Jersey. A Funeral Service will be offered on Friday at 12:00pm during visitation. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
