Dolores Lim, beloved sister, aunt, friend, and colleague, passed away peacefully at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital on June 4, 2022. Born on April 7, 1934, in Negros Occidental, Philippines, to Natividad Chiu Lim and Lim Bun Sian, Dolores graduated valedictorian of her class from Occidental Negros Provincial Hospital (now Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital) in 1955. She then went on to Manila, joining the staff of San Lazarus Hospital and earned her BSN degree from Philippine Women's University. In 1963 she came to the United States, working in the Oncology Department at Sloan Kettering among other hospitals, and earned her masters in nursing from NYU. In 1976 she joined the staff of Mount Sinai and became an education specialist and clinical instructor in oncology, pioneering nursing practices in the field. She retired in 2001. Dolores enjoyed spending time with her relatives and friends, traveling the world (visiting five continents), and was an avid tennis player often seen hitting the hard courts of Central Park. She is survived by her brother Loreto Lim and 10 loving nieces and nephews and their children.
A visitation for Dolores will be held Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753, with a funeral service at 4:30 PM.
Cremation will be private.
