Denise F. Sydlar

Denise F. Sydlar, age 66, of Whiting, NJ passed away on February 20, 2021. Born in Pennsylvania on December 11, 1954, she attended Dickinson High School in Jersey City, NJ. She was a postal employee at New Jersey International and Bulk Mail Center in Jersey City, NJ from July 1973 until her retirement in November 2003. Denise moved from Jersey City, NJ in 1980 to Montville, NJ where she lived until 2012 when she moved to Whiting, NJ.

She is predeceased by her parents John Karras Sr. and Ethel Meyers. Denise is survived by her daughter Michele Kenny of Hillsborough, NJ, son-in-law Richard and granddaughter Jillian; her brothers John Karras Jr. and Louis Karras and their families; Christina Price, husband Eric and their children; Stephen Cohrs, wife Sanan and their children; and many, many close friends including David and Sharon Buys, Michelle Gallas and their families.

Denise loved telling and hearing stories of growing up in Jersey City, her co-workers at the Post Office, shopping at flea markets, antiquing, cruising, going to the Jersey shore and playing bingo.

She was extremely proud of her Fiesta collection, adored her cats, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Joseph Parish, 34 Yorktown Road, Hillsborough NJ at a date TBD.

Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, 742 Rutherford Avenue, Lyndhurst, NJ. Cremation was private.
