Brian J. Jason, age 58, of Barnegat, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
Brian was predeceased by his parents George and Beverlie Jason and after their passing remained close with his step-mother Loretta Jason. Brian was the youngest of 3 children.
Brian is survived by his wife JoAnn of 25 years and his 3 most prized possessions, Kaden, Alexis and Jakob. Brian was the kindest soul with a great love for life and his untimely and unexpected passing will forever leave a hole in all of our hearts.
Brian was born in Camden, NJ and then spent many of his younger adult years traveling back and forth between Florida and New Jersey to manage his many successful businesses including Hollywood Jet Ski Beach and Motel on the intracoastal in Hollywood Beach Florida and the many Jet Ski/Waverunner rentals he operated in Ocean City, Toms River, Seaside Park and Long Beach Island, eventually transitioning his talents into his full time mobile watercraft service that he operated up until he was struck by recent tragedy.
Brian may have appeared quiet and reserved to many but for those that knew Brian, knew he was a kid at heart. He had the need for speed and adventure and loved his toys. The faster the better, whether it be quads, motorcycles, jet skis, boats, electric skateboards and this list goes on. An exciting day for Brian included jumping waves on a jet ski in the inlet in hurricane conditions and riding his skateboard down the hills of main roads in town at 2:30am when he claimed it was safe because there wasn't any traffic.
Brian spent many years racing watercraft and in 1994 competed at the World Finals in Lake Havasu City, AZ on his custom sponsored Yamaha Wave Blaster where he earned his spot of 4th in the world.
He was a "closet" snacker and would oftentimes be caught sneaking chips and candy from the pantry and finishing the last of one of the kids favorite treats. He had a love for the Philadelphia Eagles, Supercross and the History Channel where Ancient Aliens would be playing any time he had the TV on. He was a fan of his bucket hats and skull caps to protect the "dome." He had a special connection with his 2006 Cummins 2500 Dodge Ram Mega Cab that he refused to part with even though it no longer had air conditioning or a radio and was plagued with a new problem every day.
Most of all, Brian had the greatest love for his family. He was kind, selfless, genuine, hard working and would do anything for the ones he loved. Brian found pleasure in the little things and as long as his family was happy, he was happy. Brian loved his children with all of his heart and was the proudest father. He was always present, always supportive and never missed a beat. He juggled his busy work schedule around all of the family schedules even if it meant working after hours in the pitch black with a miners light on his head just to be sure that over the years he made it to every function whether it be a swim meet, soccer game, basketball game, lacrosse game, dance competition, college tour or coaching one of the kids sports teams.
Brian will be missed beyond words and we were all blessed to have him in our lives. He was truly one of a kind and taken from us way too soon.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a service at 4:00 pm, at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. Cremation will be private.
