Born in Seaside Park, NJ, Arline lived most of her life in Seaside Heights. Arline proudly served as Council Women in Seaside Heights for 21 years. She is a member of the Seaside Heights Fire Dept. Auxiliary and the local Chapter of Deborah Hospital. Arline was a long time business owner of Atlantic Motel in Seaside Heights and worked for years at the Big Top Arcade. She enjoyed working with all the young teens and was very much a mother to all of them. She loved gardening, knitting, stain glass, traveling and driving anywhere in her car. Arline was a kind loving person who will be missed dearly.
She was predeceased by her mother and father Lida Byrd Johnson and Samuel Reed; husband Ernst G. Ottoson Jr., her sister Esther Carpluk and a stillborn daughter Misty Lane. Arline is survived by her son Ernst G. Ottoson III and his wife Peggy; her loving grandchildren: Hayley, Karley and Ernst G. Ottoson IV and his fiancée Lauren Manuwald and her great grandchildren: Dominick, Brody, Ella and Ernst G. Ottoson V. She is also survived by her nieces Jane and Trudy; great niece Mandy and great nephews Patty and Toni. Arline will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Deborah Hospital Foundation, 200 Trenton Rd. Browns Mills, NJ. 08015.
