Born in Hackensack, she grew up in Hasbrouck Heights, where she had many fond memories. She also resided in Edison before settling in the Silver Ridge community of Toms River 13 years ago.
Prior to retiring, Arlene was a bookkeeper for their family-owned gas station in Cranford. She was also a bookkeeper for a chemical company.
Arlene loved travelling and made a few trips to Italy. She also went on an ancestral trip to Scandinavia, where she and her family learned about their heritage and roots. Arlene loved going on cruises with her husband, Salvatore, which were often sponsored by the Toms River Italian-American Club.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Marie Guinta; and her brothers, Charles and Richard Guinta.
Surviving is her loving husband of 46 years, Salvatore; her daughters, Rose Chiavuzzo, and Lisa Chiavuzzo; and her son, Vito Chiavuzzo and his wife Rachel; her grandchildren: Max and Ivy Chiavuzzo; and many other cherished family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 4-8PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 9:30AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River. Entombment will immediately follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Arlene's name to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org. or the American Stroke Association, www.stroke.org.
