Anthony Michael Mancini “Tony”, 88, of Lakewood, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday May 3, 2016 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. Born in Philadelphia he had lived there until moving to Lakewood three years ago. Anthony was a WWII United States Army Veteran. He worked as an Insurance Supervisor for Commercial Union in Philadelphia, Pa for over 30 years, until his retirement in 1986. He was an avid walker, reader and loved his politics and the Wildwood Beach. Anthony was a former Committee Man in South Philadelphia. He loved all his Philly Sports Teams, The Eagles, Phillies and Flyers. Anthony was a member of the St. Richards Church Choir in Philadelphia, PA and a Choruster in the Leisure Village East Chorus, Lakewood. His love of music and singing came from his love of Frank Sinatra.
Predeceased by his first wife Angelina, his son Michael and his sister Amelia Simeo, he is survived by his present wife Emilia of Lakewood, one son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Mariann of Brick, NJ, two daughters and sons-in-laws, Donna and Stephen D’Emilio of Havertown, PA and Patricia and Frank Sinquett of Brick, NJ, six grandchildren, Lauren (Robert), Frank, Marissa, Jaclyn (Rick), Christine (James), and Kristin, and his two great grandsons, Jacob and Holden.
A Memorial Mass will be held in celebration of his life on Saturday 10 am May 7, 2016 at the Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia Church, 1166 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146, with a gathering of family and friends to begin at 9am. Cremation is private. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia, 1166 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146.
