Janet M. “Jan” Hubbs (nee Shults); beloved wife of the late James Hubbs; devoted mother of Allan Lage and his wife Miriam Villanueva Lage; Karan Lage and her wife Ruth Miller; Richard Lage and his wife Sheryl; Erich Lage and his wife Sisi Verde Lage. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and her cherished friend Jennifer Roberts.
Jan was a giving, loving soul. Her purpose on earth was to give from her heart & care for others. Two legged or four. Mostly four legged. She loved feeding her birds and taking in abandoned cats who needed a home where she offered tons of love and endless snuggle time. She was happiest crocheting, painting ceramics or asking her loving daughter to put up her holiday decorations all around her apartment. She must have crocheted hundreds of blankets over the years & countless ceramic items. Always to be given away to friends, family and children in need. Every Christmas Jan worked hours and hours crocheting and sewing special baby blankets and little pillows putting together care packages she donated to the babies & moms living at the house of Ruth. She truly was her happiest barefoot walking on the beach with her toes in the ocean.
A Celebration of Jan’s life will be held in the LEMMON FUNERAL HOME OF DULANEY VALLEY INC., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, MD 21093 on Friday, April 13 at 12noon. Jan wanted everyone to wear colorful clothes to her funeral. She was a colorful spirit and wanted to be remembered that way.
Entombment Private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jan’s memory for the care of and finding new homes for cats to Ursula Lockerby, 3160 E. Main Street, Lot #93, Mesa, AZ 85213. Jan’s cat, Shadow, was adopted from Ursula.
