Eva Spahr Hoffman

Eva Spahr Hoffman, faithful Christian and devoted mother and grandmother, born on May 20, 1934, was called home by the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2024. Eva served in many capacities in the church, bolstered by her love of music, while also working as an elementary school teacher and real estate agent. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen Spahr, and father, Henry Spahr, of Dover, PA, as well as seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, The Rev’d. Mark A. Hoffman, STS (Rosa Amalia) of Millersburg, PA, and Eric S. Hoffman (Gretchen) of Houston, TX, grandchildren, all of whom she loved very much, Jacob, Stephanie (Reed), and Kristen, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all of the friends and church members who helped Eva in the latter years of her life – they were a great blessing!

A visitation for Eva will be held Monday, January 8, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3911 Sweet Air Road, Phoenix, MD. A funeral service will be 11:00 AM in church.

Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, thank offerings to the Lord for Eva’s life may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Sweet Air, MD.
