Doris Carolyn Epple (née Bowers), aged 90, passed away on September 28, 2024, in Cockeysville, Maryland. Born on September 20, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland, Doris was a beacon of love and care throughout her life.
Doris embraced her roles as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and wife with unparalleled passion and dedication. Her caring nature extended beyond her family, touching all corners of her community. A proud member of the RABO Association, Doris was deeply involved in community service and engagement. Her faith played a central role in her life, and she was an active member of St. Joseph Church in Cockeysville.
Known for her green thumb, Doris cherished the hours spent in her vibrant flower garden, which was a source of joy and beauty at her home. She had a special talent for decorating her home for the holidays, with Christmas being the most cherished time of year. During this festive season, she opened her home to family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Epple, and her sister-in-law, Leona Upton. She leaves behind a loving family: her son Michael Epple and daughter-in-law Kathy Epple; daughter Donna Rosenhoover; grandchildren Hannah and Rachel Epple, Sarah, Katie, and Seth Rosenhoover; sister Lois Backus; niece Stephanie Backus; niece Cindy Gibson (Cary), nephew Scott Upton (Peggy), great nephews Eric Upton (Lauren), and Kevin Upton; and grand niece Blaire Upton.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Maryland on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 101 Church Lane, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030 on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
Doris's life and legacy will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her.
