Taylor was born April 26, 1992, in Portland. He attended school at St. John Fisher, St. Joseph (Vancouver), Jesuit High School and Portland State University.
He was a talented athlete who thrived when playing sports. He grew up playing football, basketball and baseball in the Catholic Youth Organization. He played middle linebacker and fullback at Jesuit, where he was a team captain, named 1st team all-Metro league, 1st team All-State, and was Most Inspirational Player at Jesuit in 2009. After high school, he played tight end and special teams for Portland State University. He was a successful sales representative for Branddefined in Beaverton and was to be promoted to sales manager on February 1. Taylor was proud to have worked for CYO for several years before that.
Taylor was a bright light in this dark world; he was the consummate teammate, a loving brother, son, grandson and "best friend" to many. His infectious smile, warm hugs, wonderful sense of humor and ability to make others feel better will be sorely missed. He lived life to the fullest and made the most of his short time on earth.
He is survived by a loving family, including his parents, Brian and Brenda; sisters, Erin and Danielle; brother, Christian; grandparents, Mark and Mary Lou; and many family and friends.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to CYO in Portland and/or to a Taylor J. Martinek Gofundme account.
