Kellye passed away on August 22nd after a full life focused on family and sacrificial support for his wife Bette. He was a model of strength, determination and selfless love. Kellye was born in Albany, Oklahoma to Ralph and Eunice Wise. He was raised on the family farm with his three older sisters, Mary Sue, and twins Jane and June. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1951 and moved to San Diego. While there, he met Bette Martinez and they were married on September 18, 1953. They eventually lived in South Gate, in the Los Angeles area, where Kellye worked in Data Processing for Standard Oil for several years. He then joined National Cash Register (NCR) in Los Angeles, working for them in Hawaii, Ohio and Florida before returning to California. Kellye and Bette had two sons, Kellye and Sean. He was active in both boys' lives, coaching them in sports as they grew up. The family moved to Rancho Palos Verdes in 1970, when Kellye went to work for Knudsen Dairy in data processing. in 1981, Kellye and Bette moved to Corvallis, Oregon, where he went to work as the Director of Information Technology for the State of Oregon System of Higher Education. He retired in 1994 then he and Bette moved to Tigard, Oregon to be closer to family. They enjoyed traveling, taking the family to Hawaii several times, as well as visiting Alaska, Canada and visiting family in California and Oklahoma. Kellye and Bette also enjoyed attending events involving their two grand-daughters. They were members of Westview Baptist Church in Beaverton and Kellye enjoyed playing golf in his spare time. Bette passed away in 2011. He is survived by his sons, Kellye (Sandi) and Sean, his two grand-daughters, Alyssa and Kendra, his nephew David Hubbs (Pamela) and niece Laura (Randy) Craig, and grandnieces Chelsea and Emily, and grandnephews Brook and Jonathan. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Young's Funeral Home in Tigard.
