Pat was born February 1, 1948 in Portland, Oregon to Dr. John and Marguerite Harrison of Vancouver, WA. He was their fourth son, soon followed by four younger sisters. Pat attended St. Joseph Elementary School in Vancouver and Jesuit High School in Portland, graduating with the Class of 1966.
After high school he married Cathy Gregg and lived in California where he received a degree in Physiology from the University of California at Davis. He later received a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Portland.
In his professional life he was involved in medical equipment design and maintenance, including early pacemaker development, neuro-transmitters, and other bio-medical and electrical engineering projects.
Pat was always interested in taking on new challenges whether that was raising chickens, moving a house, or keeping bees. But his love of travel and especially of boating was always a constant. He traveled by van across Europe and the Soviet Union for several months with his wife and preschool son, got his pilot’s license and flew several flights between Portland and the coast. He owned several boats, including his last and favorite one, the Clover, in Seattle. He enjoyed hosting numerous visits of friends, family, kids, and grandkids for boating on Seattle Sound.
Pat married Susan in 1991. They were married for 31 years, living in Portland, Seattle, and Wilsonville. After a long battle with leukemia he passed away on January 19, 2023, just weeks before his 75th birthday.
Pat was predeceased by his parents and his older brother, John Harrison. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Lehan) Wiancko Harrison; his sons, Pat Harrison, Jr, (Tauri) of Portland and Adrian Harrison (Kristina) of Laguna Nigel; his stepsons, Greg Wiancko (Christie) and Daniel Wiancko of West Linn; his grandchildren, Jocelyn, Cullen, Freja, Signe, Garrett, Darren, Shannon, Jack, and Sadie; his great-grandson, Rowan; his siblings, Mike Harrison (Gretchen), Terry Harrison (Anne), Cathy Worner (Rich), Liz Kudo (Junya), Meg Larson (Lynn), and Cece Pfeiffer (Terry).
