Patricia "Pat" Josephine Pillar

She was born on February 21, 1938, in Portland, Oregon, to Marvin and Josephine Shumway.

Pat was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many with her love and kindness. She had an infectious laugh and a vibrant sense of humor that brought joy to those around her. Pat's dedication to her husband, Dennis, was unwavering. They were married in Sampigney, France in 1956 and shared a deep and loving bond throughout their lives. As a devoted Army wife and mother, Patricia's commitment to her family was unparalleled.

She will be remembered as a kind and loving spouse, mother, grandmother, and friend. Patricia faced illness with unwavering optimism, never allowing it to defeat her spirit. Her perseverance and strength were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Patricia is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis Pillar, her son Jerry Pillar, and her grandsons, Trevor (Lauren) and Jason (Adrienne). She also leaves behind a great grandson, a daughter-in-law, siblings Rita Walker, Tom Shumway, and Bob Shumway, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends near and far, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Danni Jo, and her brother, Andy Shumway.

Pat's educational journey began at Joseph Lane Grade School and continued at Franklin High School. After completing her education, she embarked on a fulfilling career. Patricia started her professional journey at the Oregon State Game Commission before dedicating 26 years of service to 1st National Bank, which eventually became Wells Fargo.

Outside of her career, Pat enjoyed various hobbies and activities. She played on her bank's softball team. Patricia found joy in playing tennis, capturing precious moments through photography, and crocheting blankets for her loved ones. She was a supportive spouse with Dennis’s sports car racing.

In honoring Patricia Josephine Pillar's life, we celebrate her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort and solace during this difficult time.
